Livingston Parish Public Schools Superintendent Jody Purvis was recently awarded the 2026 Louisiana Superintendent of the Year award by the Louisiana School Superintendents’ Association (LASSA). LASSA Executive Director David Claxton presented Purvis with the award during the LASSA Annual Conference in Lake Charles.

The DSHS film students presented their teacher and mentor Johnny Lombardi with an autographed print of their “Loyalty and Other Crimes” movie poster. The team recently won the top prize at the 2026 “Take Your Shot” Student Film Festival, hosted by the Southeastern Channel at Southeastern Louisiana University.
