About the Textbook Department

The Textbook and Library  Department of Livingston Parish Public Schools is dedicated to supporting high-quality instruction through the selection, management, and distribution of Tier 1 curriculum materials across the district. Our primary focus is ensuring that every student has consistent access to rigorous, standards-aligned instructional resources that support grade-level learning in every classroom.

The Textbook Department oversees the adoption and implementation of district-approved Tier 1 curriculum resources. These materials are carefully selected based on alignment with Louisiana academic standards, research-based instructional practices, and district instructional priorities. By providing a unified curricular foundation, we help promote instructional consistency, equity, and coherence across schools and content areas.

In addition to print materials, the department supports access to accompanying digital platforms and instructional resources, ensuring teachers and students can fully utilize curriculum tools designed to enhance engagement, assessment, and differentiation. These resources support effective lesson delivery, monitor student progress, and reinforce instructional best practices.

Through thoughtful curriculum adoption and responsible management of instructional materials, the Library & Textbook Department plays a critical role in strengthening teaching and learning districtwide. By ensuring all classrooms are equipped with high-quality Tier 1 resources, we support educators in delivering effective instruction and help ensure every Livingston Parish student has the opportunity to succeed academically.
