Handwriting Help
….begins with FINE MOTOR SKILL development
Join us for a presentation on how to develop fine motor skills as well as improve handwriting!
Does your child struggle with handwriting? In order to learn to write legibly, a child’s hand must be strong and coordinated enough to hold a pencil steady for a long period of time. Attempts at writing can be challenging for those students whose fine motor skills are not fully developed. This presentation will introduce you to some fun fine motor activities to help promote these skills from home! We will discuss ways to improve letter formation, spacing between words, pencil grasp, and many trouble shooting strategies to promote better handwriting. Students may struggle with fine motor skill development and handwriting, but do not qualify for school based Occupational Therapy services. This presentation is the prime opportunity to learn strategies that parents, as well as teachers, can implement at home or in the classroom. For children who are currently receiving school based OT services, this serves as an opportunity for parents to gain insight on how they can further assist from home. Livingston Parish families, make plans to join us for this FREE presentation!
